I’m Dr. Shafaq Tariq, an infectious disease specialist who completed my fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). My journey in infectious diseases began during medical school at Dow University of Health Sciences in Pakistan, where I encountered a wide range of infectious diseases and was able to see the complexities of managing them in resource-limited settings.
During my fellowship, I gained a deeper understanding of both common and rare infections that are prevalent in our community. My interests in infectious diseases include a focus on the management of HIV and the prevention of drug resistance with the practice of antimicrobial stewardship. With comprehensive training and a strong commitment to patient care, I’m excited to bring my expertise and passion to the DFW area.
