I have grown up in Texas and lived primarily in the DFW area. I originally wanted to work in research and received my first degree in Microbiology from Texas A&M University. I went on to pursue a career in Nursing and received a BSN from the University of Texas at Arlington. I have practiced as an Emergency/Trauma Nurse for more than 13 years in several local hospitals.
As an ER nurse, I had the opportunity to help my patients in the earlier stages of treatment and management of their illnesses. This helped me look to expand my practice and take the next step in becoming a healthcare provider. I received my MSN and Post-Masters from the University of Pennsylvania and Texas Woman’s University as an Acute Care and Primary Care Nurse Practitioner in the Adult and Gerontology populations. My areas of focus include Cardiovascular Disease, Critical Care, and Hospital Medicine. I have recently broadened my interests to include Infectious diseases.
I enjoy playing soccer, reading books, watching college football - especially the Aggies and time with my son, husband, and our goofy dog.
